Hello, there, everyone.
Right now I am sitting in a kind of shock following the results of the Presidential Campaign. Typically I try to leave my political biases out of church work, as no Candidate ever embodies either Christ or evil, but this cycle I feel the need to weigh in formally on one specific point.
Over the course of the campaign, many different Christian groups have thrown their support behind Trump despite the hatred that often seemed to be the main thrust of his campaign. And while I know that many of those who voted for him did not do so as an acceptance of his vitriol, that difference can be hard to spot at a difference.
So I want to make something completely clear… First Presbyterian Church of Weywauwega welcomes people of all backgrounds and creeds. We are a faith community built in the knowledge that all people are sinners, and welcome all people to join us in worship and any of our other events.
Soon, the Holidays will be here, and the raw power of the emotions flowing now will fade. But whatever rhetoric you hear anywhere else, I hope, that if you are looking for solace and a place you can call home, that you will know to look here.
You WILL be welcomed, I promise. All we ask is that you, in turn, welcome others.
